About Us
I spent years going into grocery stores looking for a snack that tasted good and didn’t totally derail my health. What I found instead was shelves full of ultra-processed junk engineered for overeating, while the better-for-you options were usually overpriced and left a lot to be desired on the taste front.
We started Subtle because that tradeoff didn’t feel right. In 2025, we launched from a small New York City apartment, iterating on the formulation more than 120 times, and introducing brand new manufacturing capabilities to get our rice cakes just right.
The result is the snack we were looking for: high protein, low calorie, and built to flex with whatever you’re craving. Enjoy!
